Lupita Nyong’o Signs On for Sci-fi Comedy from ‘Little Monsters’ Director
Fresh off the not-yet-released zombie comedy Little Monsters (pictured above), director Abe Forsythe and star Lupita Nyong’o (Us) are re-teaming for another genre comedy, Deadline reports today. This one is a sci-fi comedy, pitched under the title Miss Universe.
According to the site, “sources describe it as Men In Black meets Miss Congeniality.”
Forsythe is writing the script and directing the film for Universal Pictures.
Nyong’o will produce with Made Up Stories’ Bruna Papandrea, Jodi Matterson and Steve Hutensky. Emil Stern, Sigmund Stern and Jeanne Snow will be executive producers.

First Images of Samara Weaving in ‘Borderline’ from ‘Cocaine Bear’ Writer
Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) will next be seen in the upcoming thriller Borderline, and a couple first-look images from the film have made their way online this week.
Eric Dane and Ray Nicholson also star in director Jimmy Warden‘s (writer: Cocaine Bear) movie. Warden wrote the film, and will be making his directorial debut.
In Borderline, described as a violent comedy-thriller, “A bodyguard protects a pop superstar and her athlete boyfriend from a determined stalker in 1990s Los Angeles.”
Here’s the full official synopsis: “The writer of Cocaine Bear is back with another twisted tale. A star-obsessed sociopath, and his fellow inmates, escape from a mental institution and invade the home of his ‘90s pop superstar. He just wants to be loved; she just wants to survive.”
The cast also includes Alba Baptista and Jimmie Fails.
Borderline is produced by LuckyChap Entertainment’s Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara, Red A Entertainment’s Hadeel Reda, and Brian Duffield (Spontaneous, Underwater).
